Junior Software Developer

An exciting opportunity has become available in the U.K’s leading biometric software company. Human Recognition Systems are looking for a dynamic individual to join their product and technology team to support in the design and creation of new biometric solutions and industry leading robust products.

Applicants should be passionate about developing software in an agile software development environment and be looking for a challenge.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform software developer activities in the product develop group participating in all stages of the product development lifecycle from requirements capture through to deployment.

To act as a techincal resource within the product development group to support on project delivery or support activities where required

  • Produce clear and accurate code that meets design requirements to deadlines
  • Provide regular, accurate and timely status reports to line manager and team with regard to project status and issues
  • Participate in daily SCRUMS and follow agile software processes
  • Create User Guides/ Help Manuals/Support Documentation etc. to a consistently high standard
  • Interact with customer support team to resolve issues regarding internal applications
  • Work with customer delivery team to help with the setup and management of both hardware and software
  • Identify and address own personal and professional development needs, and show commitment to continued learning
  • Where necessary support in the testing of HRS products to the standards outlined by the QA team

General

  • Adhere to all internal administrative processes/ procedures and their respective timelines set by the company and line manager
  • Identify and address personal and professional development needs and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning
  • Demonstrate the company values and behaviours in all aspects of their work

The right person

Qualifications

  • Technical Degree (or similar e.g. Microsoft Certified Application Developer)

Experience

Essential

  • Programming knowledge with the ability to code well in at least one programming language
  • Understanding of relation databases and ability to query
  • Worked in a commercial environment
  • Have developed software for fun or personal project
  • Web development experience

Desirable

  • 1 year of C# .net experience in a commercial development environment
  • Experience in developing mobile applications
  • Web Application development
