Senior Software Developer

An exciting opportunity has become available in the U.K’s leading biometric software company. Human Recognition Systems are looking for a dynamic individual to join their product and technology team to support in the design and creation of new biometric solutions and industry leading robust products.

Roles & Responsibilities

Product/Solution Design, Creation and Delivery. To work with all members of the Product Development Group in the design and creation of new solutions and industry leading robust products to meet client requirements to agreed timescales.

  • Ensure design patterns are being followed and implemented correctly when developing solutions
  • Produce clear and accurate code that complies with design documentation and that complies with internal standards
  • Contribute in all aspects of the development lifecycle (analysis, design, development, implementation and support)
  • Provide regular, accurate and timely status reports to line manager and team with regard to project status and issues
  • Actively contribute to design and SCRUM meetings
  • Work closely with other developers, system architects and commercial team, to discuss client’s IT problems and/or requirement

The right person

Qualifications

  • Software Engineering Degree (or similar e.g. Microsoft Certified Application Developer)

Experience

Essential

  • At least 2 years C# .net experience in a commercial development environment (including LINQ, generics etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of RDMS most importantly SQL Server
  • Good Knowledge and experience with Visual Studio 2008 - 2015
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Web Development Stack (ASP.NET MVC with Razor, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery)
  • Experience of implementing Web services (ASP.NET WebAPI, WCF)
  • Experience of working under pressure and to high quality
  • Experience of writing C# automated tests (Unit, Integration)

Desirable

  • Knowledge/Experience of biometrics
  • Experience of mobile device development
  • Experience of working with TypeScript
  • Experience of working with modern C# asynchronous patterns (Tasks, async/await)
  • Experience of writing non C# tests (JavaScript, SQL, UI)
  • Experience of working with SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Experience of working with desktop technologies (WinForms, WPF, UWP, Windows Services)
  • Experience of development with vendor SDKs
  • Experience of writing software for cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)
  • Experience of setting up and troubleshooting networks
  • Use\knowledge of domain driven design (enterprise architecture) and practical use of OOP design patterns
